Arrests and Suspensions of Three Portage Police Officials in Connection with Investigation of Inappropriate Social Media Incident

According to the Chief of Portage Police, Keith Klafke, three individuals from the Portage Police Department – two patrol officers and an administrative assistant – have recently been taken into custody and are currently on administrative leave.

Several officials were recently arrested by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department following an incident where inappropriate comments were made on social media. Specific details regarding the alleged offense have not been disclosed. One of the officials was arrested for disorderly conduct. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.

In another case that is connected to this, two officials have been accused of disregarding a temporary restraining order. This order was specifically issued in response to allegations of harassment towards a minor at a nearby school.
