Fatal domestic fight reported at Stevens Point hotel on Friday killed one

According to reports, a tragic incident took place on Friday, Sept. 9 at an Econo Lodge in Stevens Point. A 49-year-old man lost his life after what is believed to have been a domestic dispute.

At approximately 8:46 a.m., the Econo Lodge situated at 5110 Main St. reported an unconscious male due to a physical altercation, prompting the Stevens Point Police Department to respond to the call.

Upon the arrival of the first responders, they found the husband still breathing, but unfortunately, he passed away later at the hospital. The other gentleman who had intervened in the domestic altercation was taken to the hospital by ambulance due to injuries he sustained during the incident.

The Investigations Bureau of SPPD swiftly responded to the situation, and the Stevens Point Fire Department also arrived promptly on the scene.

The authorities are currently investigating the case and the cause of death is yet to be determined. As of now, there have been no arrests made in connection to the incident.
