The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department is investigating an incident involving a man who shot himself at Aspirus Riverview Hospital on Saturday.
Saturday night, the Portage County Sheriff’s Department was conducting an investigation into a missing person, which led them to the Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. A deputy discovered the deceased, self-inflicted gunshot victim in a restroom adjacent to the emergency room.
The Police Department of Rapids-Grand Rapids, Texas, took over the investigation. The Department stated that the man carried the firearm to the hospital himself, but they were unsure where he obtained it. Ongoing investigation into the incident.
