Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are preparing to kick off the NFL season on Thursday night against the Ravens — and with a third-straight Super Bowl looking like a real possibility for Patrick Mahomes and company — the NFL is smart to highlight the reigning champions on national television to kick off the 2024 season.
Beyond the allure of watching Mahomes — who love him, or hate him — has become one of the most electrifying QBs in the NFL, pulling off one or two insane highlight-worthy plays at minimum per game, there’s a much bigger storyline following the team nowadays.
Last season, the Chiefs brought on a new super fan and one of the only people on the planet that could convince millions of teenage girls —and a female audience ranging in ages — to tune into the NFL every weekend.
Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce took the biggest risk of his life.
We are talking about a dude who catches footballs in the middle of the field with massive linebackers just ready to take his head off, and wrote his number on a bracelet and found a way to get it into the hands of Taylor Swift last summer.
Recent reports said the couple started dating in late July, but kept it a secret until mid September, when rumors began to dominate the pop culture world and sports media landscape at the same time. By the end of September, Swift attended her first Chiefs game and the world knew it was real.
From that point? Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift became the hottest, most talked about couple in America and beyond. Their stardom began to reach levels of English royalty, similar to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their prime.
The star tight end and pop superstar became a focal point for Hollywood media, but Swift continued to attend Chiefs games and the TV networks understood her power, making it a point to show her as much as possible during any given broadcast.
Kelce and his brother, Jason’s podcast became the most popular sports podcast in the world and Travis started to get more endorsement deals and entertainment offers. He Kelce reportedly purchased a $6 million mansion in Kansas City according to the , Los Angeles Times. He was desperate for more privacy, as his previous home exposed him to paparazzi and crazy fans.
As each month passed, photos surfaced of the couple catching dinner going on a date, and by the end of the season when the Chiefs headlined the Super Bowl vs. the 49ers, Swift was there, celebrating on the field with her man after the victory. Several of those images became instantly iconic, and while there were rumors early on the relationship was a PR stunt, it was clear the two stars in their respective fields were truly in love.
Travis Kelce Hires Lawyers After Report Reveals Relationship With Taylor Swift Is PR Stunt
Documents recently emerged on social media and caught fire as they showed that the relationship between Kelce and Swift was a well-orchestrated PR strategy and outlined how the couple would break up in late September.
The ‘contract’ appears to be written by PR firm Full Scope, and details plans and an exact date for Kelce’s breakup with Swift on September 28.
Paperwork shows an alleged plan to release a statement three days after the supposed breakup to “allow the initial media frenzy to settle and ensure clarity.”
The paperwork which appears to have been created by Los Angeles-based firm Full Scope, reveals a strategy that will lead to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift splitting and says the date for an announcement is September 28.
It also outlines a supposed plan to release an official statement at the end of this month – three days ‘post-break up’ to ‘allow the initial media frenzy to settle and ensure clarity’.
The level of detail in the alleged documents proving Swift’s relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs star sent shockwaves throughout the internet, questioning whether it was real or not.
The level of detail was worrisome including an announcement stating the split will be “gracious, respectful and stress mutual respect.”
Laying out what the statement would say, they write: “Example: Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time. “
The paperwork also states that the announcement would “focus on Kelce’s ‘personal growth’ by framing the breakup as a ‘natural part of life.’ It also will highlight his “commitment to his career with the Kansas City Chiefs and his ongoing achievements in the sports industry.”
A spokesman for Full Scope told the Daily Mail the documents were “entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency.”
Even though the documents primarily caught steam on message boards and smaller websites, Travis Kelce clearly isn’t thrilled with the incident and has hired a team of lawyers to combat the bold claim and find the culprit responsible.
The Kansas City Chiefs kickoff the 2024 NFL season on Thursday night at home against the Baltimore Ravens at 8:15 PM ET.
